The highest standard data center of Telehouse in Vietnam

In the Grand Opening Ceremony on the morning of April 25th 2023, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong – General Director of Telehouse Vietnam said that: “The new Data Center of Telehouse Vietnam is one of the first data centers in Vietnam to be equipped with Dual-Power Feeds and increase the storage capacity by 150% compared to before.”

Dual-Power Feeds is a term in Data Center’s design and operation, it mentions about the 2N data centers, that is, guaranteed 1-1 backup from the input power to the devices on the rack, instead of N+1 redundancy. The Telehouse’s new Data Center is located at the area of over 1,000 square meters inside the FPT building in Cau Giay, Hanoi. With a system of two substations and Ring Main Unit with the power capacity of 2 x 1.2 Megawatts, backup 1-1 for solutions such as UPS, generators.

In addition to dual power supplies, the new data center of Telehouse Vietnam is also applied with smart solutions, high safety with the new technologies such as magnetic cards, FaceID, eKYC for security control. The system applies AI technology to monitor over 4,000 parameters, thereby optimizing power capacity and operating ability. It also helps customers when using the Co-location service can pay the fee according to the actual power consumption, instead of paying according to the nominal capacity as usual calculation, helping to optimize costs.

According to a representative of Telehouse Vietnam, a special feature of this new data center is that the technical operation space (staging room) is built completely separate from the data hall – where storages customer’s rack cabinet. This design ensures that all human’s work and maintenance work does not affect the Data Hall area, keep the system to be safe in maximum level.

“This is a design that just a few data centers in Vietnam currently reached. Besides, Our new Data Center in Hanoi is also the data center with the highest operating standards among 47 other centers of Telehouse in worldwide at the time of launching," Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong said.

For data centers, the continuity of power supply is considered paramount to ensure the entire IT infrastructure operates stably. With two independent, parallel power supplies ensures that even if there is a power line failure, the system will operate safely and without interruption. At the Dual Power Feeds Data Center Conference in last March 2023, the data center experts assessed that Dual-Power Feeds are gradually becoming the standard for data centers in Vietnam in particular and in the world in general.

"The customer will have benefit because the downtime is close to 0, the stability reaches 99.9995% and meets the Tier 4 standard" - Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Telehouse Vietnam said.

At the Grand Opening ceremony, Telehouse Vietnam International Joint Stock Company and HGC Global Communications Limited (HGC) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. This agreement will support scalling up EdgeX by HGC products in Vietnam market, and customers using EdgeX by HGC products will have the opportunity to use the standard co-location services whith international standards provided by Telehouse Vietnam.

Telehouse is a data center service provider founded in the US in 1989, now a part of KDDI group, ranked in the top 10 data center providers in the world, according to Data Center Magazine. Telehouse currently has 47 data centers, located in 17 cities around the world, and Telehouse Data Center in Vietnam is the cooperation of KDDI with FPT and Mitsui & Co Vietnam.
